American Express Partners with F1 Academy for Women in Sport and Small Business Support at Miami Race
American Express has announced its partnership with F1 ACADEMY ahead of the Miami race, set to take place from May 3-5. This collaboration aims to support women in sport and empower female athletes both on and off the track.
The partnership will see British driver Jessica Edgar become the new ambassador for American Express in the #17 car, run by Rodin Motorsport. Edgar will not only be racing in a custom American Express race suit but will also be involved in promoting initiatives to empower female athletes.
In a unique move to support local small businesses, American Express will feature a custom livery on the F1 ACADEMY car at each remaining round of the 2024 season. This livery will showcase American Express and Shop Small® branding, as well as the logo of a local small business. The initiative aims to highlight the valuable contributions made by women-owned small businesses to their communities.
To kick off the partnership, American Express and F1 ACADEMY have scheduled a special event called “A Celebration of Women with Drive” on May 1 in Miami. The event will celebrate women in business and sports and will feature special guest and award-winning artist Camila Cabello.
One of the featured Miami small businesses on the American Express livery is Caja Caliente, a local female-founded Cuban restaurant created by Monica “Mika” Leon. The partnership with American Express aims to spotlight women-owned small businesses and their impact on local communities.
With this partnership, American Express and F1 ACADEMY are not only supporting women in motorsport but also shining a light on the importance of women-owned small businesses. This collaboration is a step towards fostering equal opportunities for women both on and off the track.
