Red Bull’s Dominance in 2024 Formula 1 Season Explained by Chief Technical Officer

Red Bull Racing has been dominating the 2024 Formula 1 season with three one-twos in the first four races, and chief technical officer Adrian Newey has shed light on the changes that have propelled the team to success.

In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports F1’s Ted Kravitz, Newey revealed that the team’s 2024 car is an evolution of their design philosophy that has been in place since 2022. The RB20 features significant changes, including vertical sidepod inlets and a taller engine cover, which have proven to be effective in maintaining Red Bull’s competitive edge.

Newey credited the team’s engineers for their creativity and drive, emphasizing that the success on the track is a result of their hard work and dedication. He also highlighted the team’s relentless pursuit of improvement, as evidenced by the introduction of a major upgrade package just four races into the season.

Despite some initial challenges with the setup of the modified car, Red Bull’s star driver Max Verstappen was able to secure pole position and a comfortable victory at the Japanese Grand Prix. Newey suggested that the upgrades were successful in delivering the expected performance improvements and hinted at further progress to come.

Looking ahead to the Chinese Grand Prix, Newey expressed confidence in Red Bull’s ability to maintain their momentum and continue pushing for success. With the return of the Sprint weekend format, fans can expect more thrilling action as Red Bull looks to extend their lead in the championship standings.

Stay tuned for more updates as Red Bull Racing aims to solidify their position as the team to beat in the 2024 Formula 1 season.
