Usain Bolt meets Jude Bellingham at Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid
Former sprinter Usain Bolt and rising football star Jude Bellingham stole the show on the red carpet at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid on Monday. The pair shared a special moment as Bellingham, the England midfielder, was awarded the World Breakthrough of the Year prize.
Bellingham, who recently scored his 21st goal of an incredible first season with Real Madrid, caught the attention of Bolt, who praised the young talent for exceeding expectations.
“I think he’s impressed a lot of people, not just me,” Bolt said. “He’s shown his young talent that he will be among the top footballers throughout his career.”
The duo even re-enacted Bellingham’s iconic open arms goal celebration, which was seen again after his stoppage time winner in the El Clasico against Barcelona.
Bolt, known for his record-breaking sprinting career, also expressed his curiosity about the pace of France forward Kylian Mbappe, one of the fastest players in world football.
“I would love to have competed with Mbappe in my prime to see how close he would be,” Bolt said. “I feel one day he just needs to run 100 metres and let me see the time.”
As Bolt looks forward to attending the Olympic Games in Paris this summer, he is excited to witness the world’s top athletes in action. With a passion for speed and competition, Bolt will be eagerly watching the 100 and 200 metres finals, reminiscing about his own legendary performances on the track.
