SMSU Football Announces 2024 Schedule
The Southwest Minnesota State University football team is gearing up for an exciting 2024 season with the announcement of their schedule. The Mustangs will face off against tough competition in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, as well as a non-conference matchup against Nebraska-Kearny.
The season kicks off with a home game against Minot State for the Ag Bowl on September 7th. Fans can also look forward to home games against Concordia-St. Paul, Nebraska-Kearny, Wayne State, Umary, and Winona State. Notably, the game against Nebraska-Kearny will be the Mustangs’ first non-conference home game in over a decade.
One of the highlights of the season will be the homecoming game against Wayne State, scheduled for a 5 p.m. kickoff. The Mustangs will hit the road to face Bemidji State, Minnesota Duluth, Northern State, MSU Moorhead, and Sioux Falls throughout the season.
Under the leadership of head coach Scott Underwood, the Mustangs are looking to improve upon their previous seasons. After a 4-7 record in Underwood’s first season and a 2-9 record in his second, the team is hungry for success in 2024.
