Shane Venteicher Promoted to Director of Football Medicine at UTRGV
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the promotion of Shane Venteicher to director of football medicine. This exciting news comes as Venteicher takes on a new role overseeing all sports medicine for the UTRGV football program.
Venteicher’s promotion is well-deserved, according to Steven Kraus, associate athletic director for sports medicine. Kraus praised Venteicher for raising the standard of UTRGV Sports Medicine and for his efficiency and excellence in overseeing sports, facilities, and student athletic trainers.
With a background in football and sports medicine, Venteicher is well-equipped to handle the care of football student-athletes. He previously served as an assistant athletic trainer for the Missouri Southern State football program and played football for three years at Simpson College.
Venteicher joined UTRGV as an assistant athletic trainer in 2022 and quickly rose through the ranks to become an associate athletic trainer overseeing men’s soccer, track & field, and cross country. Now, in his new role as director of football medicine, Venteicher will continue to build relationships with student-athletes and provide top-notch care.
“I am beyond humbled and grateful for this promotion and to be a part of what coach Travis Bush is building here at UTRGV,” Venteicher said. “I owe a huge thanks to my parents for always believing in me and pushing me to pursue my dreams.”
Venteicher’s passion for football and sports medicine is evident in his work, and his promotion to director of football medicine is a testament to his dedication and expertise. UTRGV football is in good hands with Venteicher at the helm.
