Andy Ryan’s 29 Goals Propel Larne Towards Irish Premiership Title

Larne striker Andy Ryan has been the standout performer for his team this season, scoring an impressive 29 goals to help lead his side to the brink of retaining their Irish Premiership title. In a crucial match against Linfield, Ryan once again proved his worth by scoring a first-half penalty to secure a 1-1 draw and all but seal the title for Larne.

Speaking after the match, Ryan expressed his pride in his team’s resilience, stating, “You could see tonight that there is a never-say-die attitude. We could easily have crumbled under that pressure but we’ve come away with a point.” The result leaves Larne three points ahead of Linfield with a vastly superior goal difference, making it almost certain that they will lift the Gibson Cup for the second year in a row.

Despite a slow start to their title defense, Larne gradually built momentum throughout the season, with Ryan leading the charge in front of goal. The Scottish striker emphasized the team’s growth and determination, saying, “When we won the league last year a lot of people had written us off. We’ve come back bigger and stronger and hopefully we can do the same next year.”

Ryan’s goal-scoring prowess has been a key factor in Larne’s success this season, with the 29-year-old attributing his form to the positive atmosphere within the squad. “I’ve enjoyed it. I always say you play your best football when you’re happy. It’s a great group of boys and we’re all in it together. We’ve a really good squad here. We all push each other every single day in training,” he said.

As Larne celebrates their impending title win, Ryan’s impressive goal-scoring record and leadership on the pitch have undoubtedly played a significant role in their success this season. With the striker in top form, Larne will be looking to build on their achievements and continue their winning streak in the seasons to come.
