EA College Football 25: Nebraska’s Involvement and Game Details
After a long hiatus, EA Sports is bringing back college football with the release of EA College Football 25 this summer. With the deadline for players to opt into the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) feature approaching, Nebraska’s involvement in the game has been revealed through public records.
Nebraska has submitted two iconic songs, “Hail Varsity” and “There is No Place Like Nebraska,” to be featured in the game. These songs will play during various game events such as team runouts, touchdowns, and postgame celebrations. However, some familiar tunes like “Sirius” by the Alan Parsons Project and “The Cornhusker” by the Killigans will be absent due to copyright issues.
The game will also highlight rivalry games, with Nebraska focusing on their trophy matchups with Iowa and Wisconsin. The development of the game’s uniforms has been meticulous, with EA Sports requesting actual uniforms from Nebraska to ensure authenticity.
One of the biggest changes in the upcoming game is the inclusion of NIL, allowing players to receive compensation for their likeness in the game. Players who opt in will receive $600 per year and a free game code, but inclusion is not guaranteed as the game aims for authenticity with an 85-man roster.
The return of college football in video game form has been highly anticipated, especially after the legal battles that led to the game’s hiatus. With the full reveal of EA College Football 25 set for May, fans can look forward to experiencing the excitement of college football once again in the virtual world.
