Missouri Football Lands Two Commitments in One Day for Class of 2025
Missouri football is wasting no time in recruiting new talent, even amidst the excitement of naming Laird Veatch as the university’s next athletic director. The Tigers secured commitments from two highly touted prospects on Monday, adding to their Class of 2025.
Three-star defensive end Joshua Lewis from Geismar, Louisiana, announced his commitment to Missouri via a live stream on Instagram. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 245 pounds, Lewis is ranked as the No. 74 defensive lineman in his class and the 22nd-best player out of Louisiana according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is known for his prowess as an edge rusher and also boasts a district title in shot put, with a personal best throw of 48 feet, 6 inches.
Lewis joins four-star linebacker Dante McClellan as the latest additions to Missouri’s 2025 class. The Tigers now have a top 50-ranked recruiting class, coming in at No. 47 in 247Sports’ rankings. This places them 12th among SEC teams, including newcomers Oklahoma and Texas.
Before Monday, Missouri had only two commitments in their 2025 class. With the additions of Lewis and McClellan, head coach Eli Drinkwitz is building a strong foundation for the future of the program. The Tigers are looking to continue their success on the field, as evidenced by their recent 48-14 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks.
As recruiting season continues, Missouri is proving that the arrival of a new athletic director won’t slow down their efforts to bring in top talent. Fans can expect more exciting announcements as the Tigers look to solidify their roster for the years to come.
