KOLKATA: Jamshedpur FC’s Playoff Hopes Hang in the Balance After Draw Against Kerala Blasters

In a thrilling encounter at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur, Jamshedpur FC and Kerala Blasters played out a 1-1 draw in their Indian Super League (ISL) clash on Saturday. The result proved to be a setback for Jamshedpur FC’s quest for the sixth playoff spot, as they now have only two games left to secure their spot in the next stage of the competition.

Player of the Match Javier Siverio was the hero for Jamshedpur FC, as he scored the equalizer just before half-time to cancel out Dimitrios Diamantakos’ opener for Kerala Blasters. Despite enjoying more possession, Jamshedpur FC struggled to break down the Blasters’ defense and had to settle for a point in the end.

With this draw, Kerala Blasters solidified their position as the fifth team in the standings with 30 points from 19 games, while Jamshedpur FC moved up to seventh place with 21 points from 20 games. Bengaluru FC, who also drew their match against Odisha FC, are currently in sixth place with one point more than Jamshedpur FC.

Both teams had their chances to snatch a late winner in the closing stages of the game, but ultimately failed to find the back of the net. The lack of quality finishing was evident as both teams managed only three shots on target each throughout the match.
