Yoane Wissa Leads Brentford to Victory with Brace Against Luton
Yoane Wissa continues to shine as Brentford’s leading scorer in the Premier League this season, with a stellar performance against Luton that saw him bag two goals and lead his team to a convincing 5-1 victory.
The forward opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a sublime curling effort from the edge of the box, courtesy of Bryan Mbeumo’s well-timed pass. Wissa then doubled his tally just before half-time, pouncing on a loose ball in the box to put Brentford firmly in control.
Defender Ethan Pinnock added a third goal for the Bees in the 62nd minute, heading in a corner from Sergio Reguilon. Keane Lewis-Potter and substitute Kevin Schade also found the back of the net to complete the rout for Brentford.
Wissa’s impressive performance not only secured the win for Brentford but also saw him reach double figures in league goals for the first time since the 2020-21 season. His partnership with Mbeumo and Lewis-Potter proved to be lethal for Luton, who struggled to contain Brentford’s attacking prowess.
With this victory, Brentford climbed above Crystal Palace into 14th place in the Premier League, now sitting comfortably 10 points clear of the relegation zone with just four games left to play. On the other hand, Luton’s hopes of avoiding relegation took another blow, as they remain in 18th place, one point away from safety.
Wissa’s stellar performance and Brentford’s dominant display have put them on course for another season of Premier League football, as they look forward to finishing the season on a high note. With Wissa leading the charge, Brentford fans can expect more exciting performances in the games to come.
