Exciting New Bike Races Coming to Vancouver Island: The Mosaic Gravel Series
Exciting news for cycling enthusiasts on Vancouver Island as a new series of bike races is set to kick off this year. The Mosaic Gravel Series, organized by Jon Watkins of Panache Cycling Sports, will bring a thrilling new racing experience to the island.
Watkins, a former elite cyclist racer, has a proven track record of hosting successful races, including the Robert Cameron Law Cycling Series and the Canadian National Masters Cycling Championships. His latest venture, the Mosaic Gravel Series, will feature a variety of races, with the first stop being the River City Fondo in Campbell River on April 21.
The River City Fondo promises to be a challenging and scenic race, with three different courses of varying lengths and intensities. Riders will have the opportunity to explore Campbell River’s excellent quality gravel trails, showcasing the beauty of the North Island.
With the support of local partners, including Destination Campbell River, the We Wai First Nations, and sponsors Trek Bikes and the Mosaic Forest Group, the event has come to fruition. Over 200 people have already registered for the race, with more expected to join in the coming weeks.
