“6th Tour of Mersin International Cycling Tour Begins with Enthusiasm”

The 6th Tour of Mersin International Cycling Tour has kicked off with great excitement as athletes from 171 different countries gather to compete in this prestigious event. Organized by the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Services Department, the Tour of Mersin is one of the top cycling races in Turkey, attracting top cyclists from around the world.

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer himself participated in the event and expressed his enthusiasm for the competition. He highlighted the beauty of the routes that the athletes will be cycling on, showcasing the natural and historical wonders of Mersin. Mayor Seçer emphasized the importance of sports in promoting peace, brotherhood, and teamwork, and expressed his desire for Mersin to be recognized internationally for its sports activities.

The Tour of Mersin will cover a total of 518.5 kilometers over 4 stages, taking the athletes from the ancient city of Anamurium to Tarsus, exploring the historical, natural, and cultural beauties of Mersin along the way. The competition promises to be thrilling, with the winners set to receive a total of 19,030 Euros in prize money.

Mayor Seçer also announced a series of upcoming sports events in Mersin, including the Children’s Marathon, Mersin Mountain Run, International Cilicia Ultra Marathon, and more. He expressed his satisfaction with the positive feedback received from athletes and federation representatives, highlighting the importance of organizing high-quality and internationally recognized events in Mersin.
