OCBC Cycle Returns in Full Scale for 15th Anniversary Event
Singapore’s biggest mass cycling event, the OCBC Cycle, is set to make a grand return on 6 and 7 May, marking its full-scale comeback since 2019. With more than 7,000 cyclists expected to participate in-person, the event’s 15th anniversary promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Exciting new ride categories have been introduced for this year’s event, including the Indoor Ride by Shimano, where cycling enthusiasts can compete against each other on stationary bikes at the Singapore Sports Hub’s Shimano Cycling World. Additionally, participants can challenge themselves with the new 500km Virtual Ride, allowing them to ride at their own pace and time.
The event will also feature the return of popular rides such as The Straits Times 20km City Ride and The Sportive 40km Ride, offering cyclists the opportunity to pedal through Singapore’s iconic cityscape on closed roads. Families can join in on the fun with The Mighty Savers Kids and Family Rides, catering to young cyclists aged 2 to 12.
Registration for the event opened on Tuesday at orchardgateway, with online registration available at www.ocbccycle.com. Those who register by 7 March will stand a chance to win attractive prizes, including a Brompton bicycle worth $4,555.
OCBC Bank’s group chief executive officer, Helen Wong, expressed excitement for the event, stating, “Over the past 15 years, OCBC Cycle has given cyclists and the community a fun and healthy platform to bond. It has also grown to become an integral part of the ecosystem for the development of the sport in Singapore.”
