Lance Armstrong to Compete in 2024 Enhanced Games: A New Era of Sportsmanship and Performance Enhancements
Lance Armstrong to Compete in 2024 Enhanced Games
Former professional cyclist Lance Armstrong has been announced as the first major name to compete in the 2024 Enhanced Games, a controversial event created as an alternative to the Olympic Games. The brainchild of Australian entrepreneur Aaron D’Souza, the Enhanced Games allow athletes to participate without drug testing and even encourage the use of performance-enhancing drugs.
Armstrong, who had his seven Tour de France titles stripped after confessing to using PEDs, will be competing in swimming at the Enhanced Games. This marks his first major international event in over a decade, as he looks to return to his first love of swimming.
Despite the allowance of doping at the Enhanced Games, Armstrong has made it clear that he will not be using any illegal substances. In fact, he hopes to educate younger athletes about the dangers of doping and the negative impact it can have on their lives.
The Enhanced Games will feature five sports disciplines: track and field, swimming, weightlifting, gymnastics, and combat sports. While doping is allowed, Brett Fraser, chief athletics officer of the Enhanced Games, has stated that natural athletes are welcome to compete as well.
Armstrong’s entry into the Enhanced Games has sparked controversy, especially with his past history of doping. However, he remains focused on competing clean and showcasing his talents in the pool.
In addition to swimming, Armstrong is considering competing in running events at the Enhanced Games. While he may not have the same success on the track as he did in cycling, he is eager to challenge himself in new disciplines.
