2024 Elmhurst Cycling Classic Presented by DuPage Cycling Foundation and Team EMC2/Elmhurst Master Cycling
The DuPage Cycling Foundation and Team EMC2/Elmhurst Master Cycling are gearing up for an exciting weekend of racing as they join forces once again to stage the 2024 edition of the Elmhurst Cycling Classic. The event will take place around Elmhurst University’s campus on Saturday, June 8, with a series of Illinois Cycling Association-sanctioned Illinois Criterium Championship races.
Cyclists from various professional categories will compete in races starting at 10 a.m. and lasting throughout the day until 7 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded in 13 different categories across nine races, providing an added incentive for the competitors.
One of the new additions to this year’s event is the Dr. Tauchen Ortholazer Twilight Mile, a race that will feature both men and women runners vying for cash prizes totaling $2,000. Additionally, former Elmhurst Alderman and cyclist Kevin York and his wife, Jill, are sponsoring a race for Cat 4/5 and Masters 4/5 participants.
The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry is showing their support for the Cycling Classic by sponsoring various races, including the Women’s Masters 4/5 and Men’s Pro 123 races. The event will conclude with a Family Fun Ride, providing an opportunity for cyclists of all ages and skill levels to participate.
