British Cycling Talent ID Days for Female and Visually Impaired Para-Athletes
British Cycling is on the lookout for the next generation of talented female and visually impaired para-athletes as we gear up for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. With three talent ID days scheduled over the summer in Manchester and London, aspiring athletes have the opportunity to showcase their skills and potentially earn a spot on the British Cycling team.
The talent ID days will focus on identifying promising female cyclists and visually impaired athletes who have the potential to excel in para-cycling. The first event, a female TID day, will take place on Saturday, June 15th in Loughborough, with the closing date for applications set for June 3rd. The second event, a VI TID day for visually impaired athletes, will be held on August 3rd and 4th in Manchester, with the application deadline on July 22nd.
Para-cycling has a rich history of success in Great Britain, with athletes like Dame Sarah Storey, Kadeena Cox, and Lizzie Jordan leading the way. The sport offers a variety of events both on the track and on the road, providing opportunities for athletes with different impairments to compete at the highest level.
The talent ID days will give participants the chance to learn more about para-cycling, test their skills on static bikes, and receive coaching from experienced professionals. Whether you have prior experience in cycling or are new to the sport, British Cycling welcomes athletes of all backgrounds to participate in the talent ID days.
If you are a female cyclist or visually impaired athlete with aspirations of competing at the Paralympic Games, now is your chance to showcase your talent and potentially earn a spot on the British Cycling team. Sign up for a talent ID day and take the first step towards achieving your dreams in para-cycling.
