The 17-year-old rising star has already made a name for himself in the world of track cycling, with impressive performances at state, national, and international championships.
Edwards recently decided to shift his focus to road cycling in order to enhance his sprint and endurance capabilities. His dedication to training is evident, with a gruelling regime consisting of 16-17 hours of hard work each week. This commitment has paid off, as Edwards secured second place in the 500m time trial event and third place in the sprint at the Track National Championships.
The young cyclist will be racing for the Belgium team Avia-Rudyco during his six-week stint in Europe. Edwards and his father will be leaving for Belgium on June 10, where he will be fully immersed in the world of road cycling until the end of July.
Edwards is excited about the prospect of proving himself to the European cycling community and potentially catching the eye of professional teams. With role models like Jasper Philipsen, Kaden Groves, and Sam Welsford, Edwards aspires to become a successful road sprinter and follow in the footsteps of his idols.
