Wexford Wanderers Showcase Resilience and Skill in Weekend Fixtures

The Wexford Wanderers senior team showcased their resilience and skill in a friendly fixture against Lismore, Co. Waterford, despite challenging weather conditions. Battling through the rain, both teams displayed admirable determination, with Wanderers emerging victorious by 30 runs.

Despite a rocky start, the Wanderers’ batting line-up, led by standout performances from James Harmse, Seán Dunk, and Masud Parvez, propelled them to a commendable total of 172 runs, securing a well-deserved win.

Meanwhile, the seconds demonstrated their prowess in a T20 Ed Sports Whelan Cup game against Clondalkin. Opting to bowl first, captain Jintu Mathews led his side with strategic brilliance as the bowling unit, spearheaded by Joby Jose, Adrian Campbell, and Bishnu Bartuala, restricted Clondalkin to a mere 77 runs. In a composed chase, Wanderers clinched victory with Joby Jose leading the charge with an impressive 22 runs.

The bowlers delivered a masterly performance, led by the youthful talent of Gowtham Gopakumar, who claimed three crucial wickets, ultimately securing a commanding 67-run victory.
