Sunil Gavaskar confident in Hardik Pandya’s form ahead of T20 World Cup, believes India are title contenders

Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar has expressed confidence in Hardik Pandya’s ability to shine on the international stage despite his lackluster performance in the ongoing IPL. Gavaskar believes that Pandya will step up and make a significant impact for the national team in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Pandya, who has struggled with both bat and ball for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, was named vice-captain of the Indian squad for the World Cup. Gavaskar emphasized the difference between playing in the IPL and representing one’s country, stating that Pandya will rise to the occasion when donning the Indian jersey.

“He’s had to face a lot of issues in this particular tournament, he’s handled it quite well. When he goes overseas and has to play for India, I think he will be in a completely different frame of mind,” Gavaskar said on Sports Today.

Gavaskar highlighted the importance of luck in international tournaments and believes that if India has a bit of fortune on their side, they can emerge victorious.
