During his trip to Jammu and Kashmir in February, Tendulkar also met para-cricketer Amir Hussain Lone, fulfilling a promise he made after seeing a video of him playing cricket. Discovered by a teacher who recognized his talent, Amir has been actively involved in professional para cricket since 2013.

Currently serving as a mentor for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024, Tendulkar recently shared insights into his decision to recommend MS Dhoni for the captaincy of the Indian cricket team after the 2007 World Cup debacle. Despite being offered the captaincy himself, Tendulkar felt that his physical condition was not up to par and believed that Dhoni’s intuitive and balanced approach to the game made him the right choice for the role.
