Ramiz Raja expresses disappointment as New Zealand defeats Pakistan in third T20 international

In a shocking turn of events, New Zealand emerged victorious over Pakistan in the third Twenty20 international at Rawalpindi, leveling the series at 1-1. Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja expressed his disappointment with Pakistan’s performance, especially considering the circumstances of the defeat.

Mark Chapman’s unbeaten 87 off 42 balls was the highlight of the match as he led New Zealand to chase down Pakistan’s target of 179 in just 18.2 overs. Raja criticized Pakistan’s inconsistency, stating that such a defeat on home soil against a weakened New Zealand side was embarrassing, especially with the T20 World Cup approaching.

Raja pointed out that Pakistan’s total of 178-4 fell short of expectations, with no batsman playing a long innings. He also highlighted the lackluster bowling performance by frontline bowlers Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

The New Zealand openers set the tone for the chase, with Chapman and Foxcroft sealing the victory with a 117-run partnership for the third wicket. The unexpected defeat left the home crowd of 16,000 stunned, especially considering Pakistan’s strong bowling attack.

The loss was a bitter pill to swallow for Pakistan, who had comfortably won the second match of the series by seven wickets. With the series now level, both teams will be looking to put their best foot forward in the remaining matches to secure victory.
