New Delhi: New Zealand and South Africa Unveil Jerseys for ICC T20 World Cup
The excitement for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup is building up as New Zealand and South Africa have unveiled their jerseys for the tournament. The New Zealand Cricket (NZC) official handle took to Twitter to showcase the new jersey, which pays homage to the team’s 1990s kits. Players like Mark Chapman, James Neesham, Ish Sodhi, and Tim Southee were seen sporting the new jersey, gearing up for the tournament.
New Zealand’s best performance in the T20 World Cup was in 2021 when they reached the final but were defeated by Australia. This time around, they are placed in Group C alongside West Indies, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea, and Uganda. Their first match is scheduled against Afghanistan on June 7.
On the other hand, South Africa revealed their jersey featuring a predominantly yellow color with the national flag colors on the shoulder area. The King Protea, South Africa’s national flower, is prominently displayed on the shirt. After failing to qualify for the semifinals in the previous T20 World Cup, South Africa is determined to make a mark in the upcoming edition. They are in Group D along with Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, and Nepal, with their first match against Sri Lanka on June 3.
Both teams have announced their squads for the tournament, with Kane Williamson leading the charge for New Zealand. With the stage set for an exciting tournament, cricket fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the action to kick off on June 1 in the West Indies and the USA.
