Nassau County International Cricket Stadium Receives Pitches for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024
The countdown to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 has officially begun as the pitches have arrived at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The delivery of 10 pitches from Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions in Florida marks a significant milestone ahead of the tournament’s kick-off on June 3rd.
The successful transportation of the pitches required 20 semi-trailer trucks, with four of them set to be installed in the center of the stadium and the remaining six at the practice facilities nearby. Damian Hough, the Head Curator of Adelaide Oval, expressed his satisfaction with the condition of the pitches, stating that they are in excellent shape and exceeding expectations.
The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, with a seating capacity of 34,000, will host eight matches during the tournament. The highly anticipated clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is scheduled for June 9th, promising a thrilling encounter between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam.
In addition to India and Pakistan, other teams set to feature at the venue include hosts USA, Canada, Ireland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, and Bangladesh. Hough expects the pitches to offer a balanced contest between batters and bowlers, with good pace, bounce, and value for shots.
Cricket fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the start of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, and with the pitches now in place at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, the stage is set for an exciting and action-packed tournament.
