Predictions for India’s T20 World Cup Squad: Mohammad Kaif Reveals His Selections
With the T20 World Cup squad announcement by the BCCI looming, former India batsman Mohammad Kaif has shared his predictions for the 15 players who will represent India in the tournament hosted by USA and West Indies.
Kaif’s squad includes some familiar faces like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah, but also features some surprises. He has chosen Yashasvi Jaiswal to open alongside Sharma, with Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya following in the batting order. Rishabh Pant is selected as the wicketkeeper, while Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja provide all-round options.
In the bowling department, Kaif has opted for Yuzvendra Chahal as the fourth specialist spinner, alongside Kuldeep Yadav. He has also included Arshdeep Singh as one of the fast bowlers, alongside Bumrah. Kaif explained his decision to go with Chahal over Ravichandran Ashwin, citing the leg-spinner’s ability to thrive in conditions where the ball turns.
For the remaining spots in the squad, Kaif has chosen Shivam Dube for his form and ability to play spin well, as well as Riyan Parag for his exceptional performances. He rounds off the squad with Mohammed Siraj, despite his recent lack of form, due to his experience and overall record.
Kaif’s squad is a mix of experience and youth, with a focus on players who can adapt to different conditions and provide depth in both batting and bowling departments. As the anticipation builds for the official squad announcement, fans will be eager to see if Kaif’s predictions align with the final selection made by the BCCI.
