Former Delhi Batter Milind Kumar Secures Spot in USA Squad for T20 World Cup

Former Delhi batter Milind Kumar has earned a spot in the United States of America squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, set to kick off on June 1. The 33-year-old right-handed batsman, who was the top run-getter of the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season with 1331 runs, will be a key player for the USA team co-hosting the event alongside the West Indies.

Milind, who previously represented Delhi for seven seasons before moving to the USA for better opportunities, has also played for Sikkim and Tripura in the Indian domestic circuit. He has IPL experience as well, having featured for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Joining Milind in the USA squad is former Mumbai left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh, who played for the Indian team in the 2012 U-19 World Cup and has represented Rajasthan Royals and Tripura in state cricket. Another Mumbai-born player, Saurabh Netravalkar, who played in the 2010 U19 World Cup, is also part of the squad.

Notable exclusions from the squad include Unmukt Chand and Smit Patel, members of the 2012 U-19 World Cup-winning team. However, the team boasts the presence of former New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson, who made his debut for the USA last month in a T20I against Canada.

The USA team, led by Monank Patel, will kick off their campaign against Canada on the opening day of the tournament and will also face tough competition from India, Pakistan, and Ireland in Group A.

With a mix of experienced players and promising talents, the USA squad is gearing up to make a mark in the T20 World Cup and showcase their cricketing prowess on the global stage.
