Michael Hussey praises Ravindra Jadeja’s adaptability as CSK’s No. 4 batsman
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting coach Michael Hussey has lauded all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s adaptability in his new role as a No. 4 batsman in the team. Jadeja, who is known for his finishing abilities, has been seen batting higher up the order this season, showcasing his versatility and ability to adjust his game according to the situation.
Hussey praised Jadeja’s performance so far, stating that he has done a good job at adapting to the new role. “He is in a good frame of mind, hitting the ball well in the nets, and there is no concern. His strength lies in being able to work the ball around the gaps, use his pace and run between the wickets, picking the right time to attack the right bowlers,” Hussey said.
CSK, who have faced consecutive defeats in their last two matches, will be looking to bounce back in their upcoming game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Despite the recent losses, Hussey remains confident in the team’s abilities, especially in challenging conditions like heavy dew at Chepauk.
The coach also expressed his support for top-order batter Ajinkya Rahane, who has had a couple of low scores in recent games. Hussey attributed Rahane’s struggles to a calf niggle but emphasized that the team is fully backing the experienced Indian cricketer.
In addition, Hussey highlighted the impact of Shivam Dube, CSK’s second-highest run-scorer of the season, and emphasized the importance of giving him the freedom to play aggressively and express himself on the field.
As CSK prepares to take on SRH, all eyes will be on Jadeja, Rahane, and Dube as they look to turn their fortunes around and secure a much-needed victory in the ongoing IPL season.
