KKR’s Varun Chakaravarthy and Phil Salt Shine in Convincing Victory over Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024

In a thrilling encounter at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) emerged victorious against Delhi Capitals (DC) in their IPL 2024 clash, thanks to a stellar performance by Varun Chakaravarthy and Phil Salt.

Chakaravarthy’s three-wicket haul and Salt’s explosive half-century paved the way for KKR’s convincing 7-wicket win over DC. Chasing a target of 154 runs, Salt’s aggressive innings of 68 runs off just 33 balls, which included 7 fours and 5 sixes, set the tone for the chase. Captain Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer then finished the job with ease, guiding KKR to victory in just 16.3 overs.

Despite Axar Patel’s impressive spin bowling, claiming 2 wickets for 25 runs, DC found themselves unable to defend the modest total set by Rishabh Pant’s team.

With this win, KKR strengthened their position at the No. 2 spot on the IPL 2024 points table with 12 points, while Delhi Capitals slipped to the sixth position with the same number of points.

After the match, Salt expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, especially the bowlers, and emphasized the importance of backing oneself while batting aggressively.

Salt also highlighted the communication and understanding between him and Sunil Narine, stating that they take turns to attack based on the situation of the game.

Overall, KKR’s dominant display against DC showcased their strength as a team and their determination to succeed in the IPL 2024 season.
