Rockchase Sports Plans High Quality Indoor Sports Facility in Havering
Rockchase Sports has submitted a planning application to Havering Council for the transformation of Creative House in Bryant Avenue into a state-of-the-art indoor sports facility catering specifically to cricket enthusiasts in the region. The proposal includes the installation of seven cricket nets, two of which will be equipped with bowling machines, to provide a top-notch practice space for individuals and teams looking to enhance their cricketing skills.
The sports centre aims to not only offer coaching services and specialized training programs but also to host tournaments, matches, leagues, and other sports-related events that will bring the community together. Additionally, the facility plans to provide rental services for schools, sports clubs, community events, birthday parties, and corporate events. An on-site shop will offer cricket equipment and other related products, building on the applicant’s established e-commerce platform.
Rockchase Sports boasts a strong online retail presence and has already partnered with numerous cricket clubs who have shown interest in utilizing the proposed facilities in Harold Wood. The applicant plans to retain the ground floor retail area while converting the rest of the floor into cricket nets. Office space for rent will be available on the first floor, with a seating area for spectators on the mezzanine level.
The demand for indoor cricket nets is on the rise, with over 300 clubs in east London and Essex seeking high-quality facilities. The closest option currently available is Ilford Cricket Club. A decision on the application is expected to be reached by May 21, and if approved, the new sports facility could soon become a hub for cricket enthusiasts in the area.
