The stage is set for the upcoming T20 World Cup, and former Indian cricketer Madan Lal has identified the key players who could make a difference for Rohit Sharma’s Indian team. With the tournament set to take place in West Indies and USA from June 2 to June 29, Lal believes that the performance in the initial overs will be crucial for India’s success.

In an exclusive interview with TimesofIndia.com, Lal highlighted Rishabh Pant as the X-factor for India. He praised Pant’s recent form and stated that his performance will be vital for India’s chances in the tournament. Lal also supported the selection of Shivam Dube over Rinku Singh, citing Dube’s impressive performances in the Indian Premier League.

While Lal questioned the exclusion of KL Rahul from the squad, he expressed his satisfaction with Sanju Samson’s selection, emphasizing Samson’s consistency and hard work. Lal stressed the importance of top-order batsmen and bowlers performing well in the tournament, stating that the first six and last three-four overs are crucial in determining the outcome of the game.

India’s schedule for the T20 World Cup includes matches against Ireland, Pakistan, the USA, and Canada, all to be played in New York and Florida. With a talented squad at their disposal, India will be looking to make a mark in the tournament and bring home the coveted trophy.
