Mark Chapman’s heroics lead New Zealand to stunning victory over Pakistan in third T20I

In a thrilling match that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Mark Chapman led an understrength New Zealand team to a stunning victory over Pakistan in the third Twenty20 international in Rawalpindi. Chapman’s resilient half-century, scoring 87 runs off just 42 balls, was the highlight of the match as he guided his team to chase down a target of 179 runs in just 18.2 overs.

Despite facing a formidable Pakistan bowling attack, Chapman’s aggressive batting display silenced the packed holiday crowd of 16,000 spectators. His partnership with Dean Foxcroft, who contributed 31 runs, proved to be crucial in securing the seven-wicket win for New Zealand.

Pakistan, batting first, posted a total of 178-4 with Shadab Khan and Babar Azam leading the charge with 41 and 37 runs respectively. However, New Zealand’s Tim Robinson and Tim Seifert set the tone for the chase with quickfire innings to put their team in a strong position early on.

Chapman’s explosive hitting, which included four sixes and nine fours, was instrumental in New Zealand’s victory as they leveled the five-match series at 1-1. Despite a late fightback from Pakistan’s bowlers, Chapman and Jimmy Neesham ensured victory with ten balls to spare.

The series now moves to Lahore for the final two matches, with both teams using the games as preparation for the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup. With Chapman’s heroics in Rawalpindi, New Zealand will be looking to carry their momentum forward as they aim for success in the upcoming tournament.
