The excitement is building as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 approaches, with the completion of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York drawing closer. The construction of the 34,000-seat modular cricket stadium has been progressing rapidly since January, as shown in a timelapse video released by the International Cricket Council. The general stands, players’ locker rooms, hospitality and VIP boxes, and operations offices are all taking shape, with the turf outfield laid and the pitches set to be installed next week.
“We can’t wait to welcome the world to this incredible venue this June,” Jones said in a statement, highlighting the impressive progress made in just a few months. The stadium is expected to be complete by May 21, with a test event scheduled for May 27 and the first match, Sri Lanka vs. South Africa, set to take place on June 3.
The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium will host a number of exciting matches during the T20 World Cup, including India vs. Pakistan on June 9 and USA vs. India on June 12.
