Derek Chisora Backs Tyson Fury to ‘Walk Over’ Oleksandr Usyk with Big Change to Support Team

In a recent interview, Derek Chisora has thrown his support behind Tyson Fury ahead of his highly anticipated fight against Oleksandr Usyk in May. Chisora believes that Fury has the potential to ‘walk over’ Usyk if he makes a significant change to his support team, specifically by having his father, John Fury, as his main trainer.

The upcoming fight between Fury and Usyk, set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on May 18, was originally scheduled for February but was postponed due to a cut Fury sustained in sparring. This bout will mark the first undisputed heavyweight clash this century, with both fighters putting their unbeaten records on the line.

Fury is currently trained by SugarHill Steward, but Chisora believes that having his father in his corner could make a crucial difference in the outcome of the fight. Chisora emphasized the strong bond between a father and son when training together, stating that Fury would have a significant advantage with his father by his side.

Chisora, who has faced Fury three times in his career, predicts that Fury will aim to knock out Usyk to make a statement. However, he advises Fury to focus on boxing and not solely on securing a knockout, as Usyk will need to tire Fury out to have a chance at winning in that manner.

Despite some controversy surrounding Fury, former cruiserweight champion Johnny Nelson has clarified that he does not dislike Fury but simply calls out what he perceives as ‘BS’ surrounding the fighter. Nelson acknowledges Fury as the best heavyweight in the world but criticizes those around him for spreading misinformation.

As the fight draws closer, all eyes will be on Fury and Usyk as they prepare to battle it out for the undisputed heavyweight title, with Chisora’s endorsement adding an extra layer of intrigue to the highly anticipated matchup.
