Department of Information Receives Outstanding Boxing Support Award 2022-2023

The Department of Information in Thailand has been recognized for its significant contribution to the country’s Boxing Sports industry. Mr. Panidone Pachimsawat, Deputy Director-General of the Department, accepted the “Outstanding Boxing Support Award 2022 – 2023” on behalf of the agency at a ceremony held at the Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel in Bangkok on April 4, 2024.

The Department of Information was one of three government agencies, along with the Department of Physical Education and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, to receive this prestigious award from the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT). The ceremony, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the National Sports Development Fund, aimed to honor individuals, groups, or organizations that have played a significant role in promoting Thailand’s Boxing Sports.

This recognition comes as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been actively promoting Muaythai, a form of Thai boxing, on the international stage since 2012 as part of its cultural diplomacy efforts. The Ministry is committed to working with partners to further enhance the cultural heritage and economic value of the Muaythai industry through creative economy initiatives.

The Department of Information’s involvement in promoting Thailand’s Boxing Sports highlights the government’s dedication to raising the visibility and popularity of Muaythai on the global stage. This award serves as a testament to the agency’s commitment to supporting and advancing the country’s sporting culture.
