Ryan Garcia explains concerning behaviour before beating Devin Haney as part of pre-planned act

In a shocking turn of events, Ryan Garcia has revealed that his recent concerning behavior leading up to his victory over Devin Haney was all part of a carefully orchestrated plan. The 25-year-old boxer stunned fans with his online rants, allegations of abuses, and excessive drinking in the months leading up to the fight, but he ultimately emerged victorious against Haney on Saturday.

Despite missing weight by three pounds last week, Garcia managed to drop Haney three times during the fight, handing him his first professional loss. However, Garcia failed to claim the WBC super-lightweight title due to the weight discrepancy.

In a recent interview on the PBD Podcast, Garcia explained that his erratic behavior was all part of a premeditated plan that he had been working on for months. “I was already planning it weeks and months behind. I don’t know what made me come up with the idea, honestly. One day I just decided to just go all in and just commit to the plan that I had, and I was not gonna budge for nobody,” Garcia said.

While Garcia admitted to drinking during camp, he insisted that his behavior was all an act. Despite his controversial antics, Garcia managed to secure a majority-decision victory over Haney, improving his record to 2-0 since his first pro loss to Gervonta Davis in April 2023.

Looking ahead, Garcia has named some high-profile fighters, including Davis, Errol Spence Jr, Conor Benn, and UFC champion Sean O’Malley, as potential opponents for his next fights. With his recent victory over Haney, Garcia has proven that he is a force to be reckoned with in the boxing world.
