Bulldogs Players Set to Shine at Nikita Tszyu Fight Night
The Canterbury Bulldogs are making headlines once again, this time for their involvement in the upcoming Nikita Tszyu fight night. A group of at least six Bulldogs players, including stars like Matt Burton, Josh Curran, and Bronson Xerri, will be part of a walkout for rising Aussie super welterweight Benjamin Hussain at the No Limit Pay-Per-View event on Wednesday night.
No Limit CEO George Rose has sweetened the deal by offering a $20,000 performance bonus for the fighter who delivers the best knockout, finish, or moment of the card. The event will feature Tszyu defending his undefeated record against Danilo Creati, as well as the anticipated bouts of two more undefeated No Limit prospects.
In a unique twist, Sydneysider Linn Sandstrom will also have a shot at becoming the nation’s newest world champion when she faces off against reigning WBA super flyweight queen Clara Lescurat. The rivalry between Hussain and Mason Smith is expected to be a highlight of the night, with both fighters vying for Rose’s bounty.
Hussain, a Mt Druitt native, revealed that a group of Bulldogs players will be part of his entourage for the fight, adding to the excitement of the event. The connection between the Bulldogs and the fight scene runs deep, with the club’s wrestling coaches being UFC middleweight Jacob Malkoun and head coach Alex Prates, who also trains UFC champion Robert Whittaker.
With strong ties to the Australian fight scene, the Bulldogs players are set to bring their support to Hussain as he looks to make a mark on the international stage. As Hussain aims to climb the ranks in the super welterweight division, the support of his fellow Bulldogs could be the extra push he needs to reach the top.
