India shines at ASBC Asian U-22 & Youth Boxing Championships 2024
Indian boxers Brijesh Tamta, Sagar Jakhar, and Sumit have secured medals for India at the ASBC Asian U-22 & Youth Boxing Championships 2024 in Astana, Kazakhstan. Brijesh fought a tough battle against Uzbekistan’s Sabirov Sayfiddin, ultimately winning the match in the third round. Sagar Jakhar and Sumit also clinched victories in their respective weight categories, ensuring their spots in the semifinals.
With these three medals, India now has a total of eight medals in the youth category, with five women boxers set to compete in the semifinals. The Indian contingent is looking strong with more boxers scheduled to compete in the quarterfinals and upcoming matches.
In the women’s U-22 category, Asian Games bronze medallist Preeti will be starting her challenge along with other Indian boxers. The men’s U-22 category will also see Indian boxers in action, aiming to secure more medals for the country.
