West Fargo Native Jacksen Moni Transfers to NDSU Bison for Final Season
Jacksen Moni, a West Fargo native, is making a triumphant return to his hometown as he announced his decision to transfer to North Dakota State University for his final season of eligibility. The 6-foot-10 forward had a stellar career at Northern State in Aberdeen, South Dakota, where he averaged 21 points, 8 rebounds, and three assists per game this past season, earning a first-team Northern Sun selection.
Moni was highly sought after in the transfer portal, receiving offers from schools like Wyoming, Drake, and Illinois State. However, the opportunity to play Division One basketball close to home and be a father figure to his six-month-old daughter ultimately led him to choose NDSU.
NDSU head coach Dave Richman expressed his excitement about Moni joining the team, highlighting his size, skill, experience, and character as valuable additions to the Bison roster. Moni’s ability to shoot the three-point shot at 33% adds depth to the team’s offensive arsenal, especially alongside returning top three-point shooters Jacari White, Tajavis Miller, and Noah Feddersen.
Moni’s basketball journey began at West Fargo Sheyenne High School, where he had a standout career before moving on to Northern State. He brings a wealth of experience and a strong work ethic to NDSU, aiming to continue his development and contribute to the team’s success.
With Moni’s addition, NDSU is shaping up to have a formidable lineup for the upcoming season, with the recent transfer of point guard Brennan Watkins adding further depth to the roster. As Moni prepares to make the transition from Division Two to Division One basketball, he is focused on embracing the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, determined to make a positive impact on the Bison family.
