Villanova Lands VCU Guard Max Shulga in Transfer Portal Commitment

Villanova Wildcats have made a significant addition to their roster with the commitment of transfer guard Max Shulga from VCU. Shulga, who played a key role in VCU’s victory over Villanova in the NIT, brings a wealth of experience and talent to the Wildcats.

Standing at 6-foot-4, Shulga is known for his playmaking and shooting abilities, making him a valuable asset to Villanova’s backcourt. In his most recent season at VCU, Shulga averaged 14.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists while shooting efficiently from the field and the free-throw line.

Shulga expressed his excitement about joining Villanova, citing the program’s winning culture and history as key factors in his decision. He is confident that his game will translate well to the Big East and is focused on getting stronger and preparing for the pace of play in the conference.

With Shulga’s commitment, Villanova now has a revamped backcourt for the upcoming season, including transfers Jhamir Brickus and Tyler Perkins. The Wildcats are also in the running for guard/wing scorer Khalif Battle, adding even more depth to their roster.

The addition of Shulga leaves Villanova with four scholarship spots remaining, but the team is still in need of a starting-caliber big man. Despite some movement in the guard position, the Wildcats are looking to bolster their frontcourt with experienced players.

Overall, Shulga’s commitment is a significant boost for Villanova as they aim to bounce back from a disappointing season and make a strong push in the Big East. With a talented roster taking shape, the Wildcats are poised for success in the upcoming season.
