UNC Basketball Portal Pickup Cade Tyson Set to Arrive on May 15 for Workouts and Summer Session

Cade Tyson, the newest addition to the UNC basketball roster, is gearing up to make his mark in Chapel Hill. The former Belmont forward, who hails from Monroe, N.C., is set to arrive at UNC on May 15 to start workouts and prepare for summer classes. Tyson, the younger brother of Denver Nuggets rookie Hunter Tyson, is eager to begin his journey with the Tar Heels.

After a standout sophomore season at Belmont, where he averaged 16.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 46.5 percent from three-point range, Tyson is poised to bring his scoring prowess to UNC. The 6-foot-7 sharpshooter, who was named the Missouri Valley Conference Rookie of the Year in his freshman season, has two years of eligibility remaining and is expected to be a key contributor for the Tar Heels.

With Tyson’s arrival, the UNC basketball roster now boasts 10 scholarship players for the upcoming season. Additionally, there is speculation that former Rutgers big man Clifford Omoruyi may also join the team, adding even more talent to an already impressive lineup.

As Tyson prepares to embark on this new chapter in his basketball career, Tar Heels fans are eagerly anticipating his debut in the iconic Carolina blue jersey. Stay tuned to All Tar Heels on SI for the latest updates on UNC basketball and all things Tar Heels.
