Arkansas Women’s Basketball Transfer Portal Updates

The Arkansas women’s basketball team has been making waves in the transfer portal this offseason, with several key players entering and exiting the program.

One of the most notable incoming transfers is guard Izzy Higginbottom, who hails from Batesville, Arkansas. Higginbottom previously played at Missouri before transferring to Arkansas State, where she had an impressive junior season, averaging 22.2 points per game and leading the team in multiple statistical categories. Joining her is forward Vera Ojenuwa, a standout player from Nigeria who played at Barton Community College. Ojenuwa had a strong freshman season, averaging a double-double with 13.6 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

On the other hand, the Razorbacks have seen some key players leave the program, including forward Maryam Dauda and guard Samara Spencer. Dauda, a highly touted recruit from Bentonville, had a breakout redshirt-sophomore season, while Spencer was named SEC freshman of the year in 2022. Both players have yet to announce their new schools.

Additionally, guard Saylor Poffenbarger has transferred to Maryland after a successful stint at Arkansas, where she excelled in rebounding and three-point shooting. Taliah Scott, another standout guard, has decided to continue her career at Auburn, while Jersey Wolfenbarger has made the move to LSU.

The Arkansas women’s basketball team is undergoing significant changes this offseason, but with a mix of incoming talent and experienced players, the Razorbacks are poised to make a strong impact in the upcoming season. Stay tuned for more updates on the team’s roster as the transfer portal continues to shape the landscape of women’s college basketball.
