Cal Basketball Adds Transfer Forwards Joshua Ola-Joseph, Lee Dort, and Rytis Petraitis to Roster
Cal basketball continues to bolster its roster with the addition of transfer forwards Joshua Ola-Joseph, Lee Dort, and Rytis Petraitis. These three players are among the nine transfers who have committed to the Bears since April, each bringing two years of eligibility to the team.
Ola-Joseph, a 6-foot-7 forward from Minnesota, joins Cal after averaging 7.5 points on 57-percent shooting in his two seasons with the Golden Gophers. Coach Mark Madsen praised Ola-Joseph’s efficient shooting and athleticism, highlighting his ability to stretch the floor and disrupt on defense.
Dort, a 6-10 forward from Haiti, comes to Cal from Vanderbilt, where he appeared in 18 games over two seasons. Despite off-court issues that limited his playing time, Dort’s size and shot-blocking abilities make him a valuable addition to the Bears’ roster.
Petraitis, a 6-7 forward from Texas, averaged 15.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists last season at Air Force. Madsen commended Petraitis’ versatility and playmaking ability, noting his mature approach to the game and strong basketball pedigree.
With these additions, Cal looks to strengthen its roster for the upcoming season. The Bears’ coaching staff is excited to welcome Ola-Joseph, Dort, and Petraitis to the program and is confident that they will make significant contributions on the court.
