Missouri Women’s Basketball to Retain Head Coach Robin Pingeton for 15th Season

Missouri women’s basketball fans can breathe a sigh of relief as head coach Robin Pingeton looks set to return for her 15th season with the Tigers. According to a report from Power Mizzou, Pingeton will be retained for the upcoming season, despite falling short of expectations in the previous campaign.

Pingeton’s future with the team was uncertain after then-athletic director Desireé Reed-Francois made it clear that the Tigers needed to make the NCAA Tournament for her to keep her job. Unfortunately, the team finished with a disappointing 11-19 record and failed to secure a postseason berth.

With Reed-Francois departing for Arizona in February, the question of Pingeton’s job security lingered. However, it seems that the Tigers are moving forward with the veteran coach at the helm.

Pingeton’s contract, which runs through April 2025, includes a buyout of $233,333 if she were to be let go without cause. The coach is currently paid a base salary of $400,000 per year, with an additional $100,000 in non-salary compensation.

During her tenure at Missouri, Pingeton has led the Tigers to four NCAA Tournament appearances and six WNIT appearances. Despite the recent struggles, the program seems to be in good hands with Pingeton at the helm.
