Delaware State Forward Wesley Oba Commits to Missouri State Men’s Basketball
Delaware State forward Wesley Oba has officially announced his commitment to join Cuonzo Martin and the Missouri State men’s basketball team. The 6-foot-8, 215-pound junior made the announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter, after spending one year playing in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Oba had a successful season with the Hornets, appearing in 34 games with seven starts. He averaged 6.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 59% from the field. Prior to his time at Delaware State, Oba played at Florida SouthWestern College, where he averaged 4.7 points and 5.3 boards per game.
Originally from Manchester, England, Oba also spent time at Division II Sioux Falls before transferring to Florida SouthWestern midseason. He is the latest addition to Martin’s roster, joining Vincent Brady II, Sam Murray II, and Zaxton King as players who have committed to the Bears since Martin took over as head coach.
With at least five open scholarships still available for the upcoming season, Martin and his staff continue to actively recruit new talent. Juco transfer Mozae Downing-River recently announced his commitment to Missouri State, further adding to the team’s depth.
