Louisville Men’s Basketball Program Continues to Secure Impact Transfer Visits

The Louisville men’s basketball program is making moves in the transfer market, with former Washington guard Koren Johnson set to visit campus on Apr. 20. Johnson, who recently earned Pac-12 Sixth Player of the Year honors, is coming off a strong season where he averaged 11.1 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game.

Johnson is just one of several transfers who have scheduled visits to Louisville. Toledo guard Dante Maddox Jr., South Florida guard Chris Youngblood, and Florida Atlantic guard Nick Boyd are already on campus, while Arizona center Oumar Ballo is set to visit in mid-April.

The 6-foot-2 shooting guard was a highly touted recruit out of high school, and has shown steady improvement during his time at Washington. With a solid shooting percentage from the field and beyond the arc, Johnson could provide a scoring punch for the Cardinals next season.

After a disappointing campaign that led to the firing of head coach Kenny Payne, Louisville’s roster has undergone a major overhaul. New head coach Pat Kelsey has wasted no time in working the transfer portal, landing three key transfers including guard Reyne Smith and center James Scott from Charleston.

With the addition of Johnson and other talented transfers, Louisville fans have reason to be excited for the upcoming season. Stay tuned to Louisville Report for more updates on the Cardinals’ offseason moves.
