North Central Senior Gracie Kleikamp Signs Letter of Intent to Gogebic Community College
Gracie Kleikamp, a senior at North Central High School, made a significant decision that will shape her future as she signed her letter of intent to play basketball and volleyball at Gogebic Community College. The signing took place on April 23, 2024, at North Central High School, surrounded by family, friends, and coaches.
Kleikamp, who will be pursuing a career in nursing, expressed her excitement about the opportunity to continue her athletic and academic journey at GCC. “I really enjoy helping others,” Kleikamp said. “It’s also nice to be a part of helping people through the recovery process and just being there for people.”
The decision to choose GCC was not taken lightly, as Kleikamp had multiple offers on the table. However, after touring the campus, she felt a strong connection to the school. “I had a couple of offers but this one felt right to me,” Kleikamp explained.
Although Kleikamp’s love for basketball has been longstanding, her passion for volleyball developed later in her high school career. Despite starting her volleyball journey late, Kleikamp’s competitive nature and dedication have propelled her to the college level.
Her coaches at North Central High School have nothing but praise for Kleikamp’s hard work and dedication. Rick Mick, the Jets volleyball coach, commended Kleikamp’s growth as a player in just two short years. Meanwhile, Brooke Granquist, the Jets basketball coach, highlighted Kleikamp’s leadership on the court and her impressive stats from the past season.
As Kleikamp prepares to embark on this new chapter in her life, the North Central community is proud to see one of their own excel and pursue her dreams at the collegiate level.
