The Indiana Hoosiers have added another talented guard to their roster with the addition of Stanford transfer Kanaan Carlyle. The 6-foot-3 guard brings three years of eligibility and a wealth of experience to Bloomington.
Carlyle is ranked as the No. 10 player in the transfer portal and the top combo guard by 247 Sports, making him a valuable addition to the Hoosiers’ backcourt. He joins a recruiting class that includes five-star freshman Bryson Tucker, Washington State transfer Myles Rice, and Arizona transfer Oumar Ballo.
With experience at both point guard and shooting guard, Carlyle adds versatility to Indiana’s lineup, complementing returning guards Trey Galloway, Gabe Cupps, Jakai Newton, and Anthony Leal. Carlyle’s standout performances, including a 28-point game against No. 4 Arizona and a career-high 31 points against Washington State, caught the attention of college basketball fans nationwide. His success at Stanford, coupled with his high school accolades as a four-star recruit, make him a promising addition to the Hoosiers’ roster.
With three open scholarships remaining, Indiana head coach Mike Woodson has the opportunity to continue shaping his team for the upcoming season. The current roster boasts a mix of experienced players and talented newcomers, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead for the Hoosiers.
