Duke Basketball ‘Playing Like Underdogs’ in Latest March Madness Run

In a thrilling matchup at the American Airlines Center, the Duke Blue Devils emerged victorious over the Houston Cougars, securing their spot in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. The game was a physical battle from start to finish, with both teams leaving it all on the court.

One player who stood out in the game was Duke guard Jared McCain, who made a significant impact on both ends of the floor. Despite facing a tough and relentless Houston team, McCain and the Blue Devils showed their resilience and toughness, ultimately coming out on top with a hard-fought 54-51 victory.

After the game, McCain reflected on the team’s journey to the Elite Eight and likened it to Michael Jackson’s hit song, “You Rock My World.” He described the feeling of being on top of the world and credited the team’s underdog mentality for their success thus far in the tournament.

Duke’s road to the Elite Eight has been a challenging one, with the team facing adversity and doubt along the way. Despite flying under the radar for much of the season, the Blue Devils have proven their worth with each game, showing that they have what it takes to compete at the highest level.

Looking ahead to their next matchup against NC State, McCain expressed gratitude for the opportunity to face the team that knocked them out of the conference tournament. He acknowledged the Wolfpack’s impressive run and emphasized the importance of playing tough defense and setting the tone early in the game.

As Duke continues their march through March Madness, McCain and his teammates are focused on taking it one game at a time and proving their critics wrong. With their eyes set on a Final Four appearance, the Blue Devils are determined to keep fighting and showing the world what they are capable of.
