Amanda Maria Rocha and Niranjan L R to Lead Kerala in Junior National Basketball Championships

Excitement is brewing as Amanda Maria Rocha from Sacred Heart HSS, Thevara, and Niranjan L R from St Joseph’s HSS, Thiruvananthapuram, gear up to lead the Kerala women and men’s teams in the upcoming 74th Junior National Basketball Championships in Indore from May 8 to 14.

The Kerala women’s team, placed in Group A, will face tough competition from teams like Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, hosts Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka. On the other hand, the Kerala men’s team, also in Group A, will battle it out against Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Punjab, and Delhi.

The women’s team will be under the guidance of coach Jose Philip from the Kerala State Sports Council (KSSC), while the men’s team will be led by coach Dimal C Mathew.

The squads for the championships have been finalized, with Amanda Maria Rocha captaining the women’s team alongside players like Tiyona Ann Philiph, Laya Maria Antony, and more. Niranjan L R will lead the men’s team, supported by players like Anwin, George Joseph, and Jibin Thomas.
