Willmar Baseball Team Falls to Alexandria in Tough Loss
In a thrilling baseball matchup between Willmar and Alexandria, it was a second-inning surge that ultimately decided the outcome. The visiting Alexandria team scored six runs in the top of the second inning, setting the stage for a 7-4 victory over Willmar at Klemmetson Field.
Willmar initially took the lead in the bottom of the first inning, with Mason Thole’s hit leading to a misplay by the right fielder, allowing Cullen Gregory to score the first run of the game. However, Alexandria quickly responded in the second inning, with Kasen Muscha, Gage Castle, Jordan Kuhnau, Landon Gess-Norling, and Gavin Klimek all contributing to the six-run rally.
