The Adrian/Ellsworth baseball team broke their four-game losing streak with an impressive 14-4 victory over Russell-Tyler-Ruthton on Thursday. The Dragons, now 2-4, showed resilience after initially trailing 3-0, responding with eight runs in the bottom of the third inning to take the lead. They continued their offensive onslaught with two runs each in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to secure a double-digit victory in just six innings.

Key players for Adrian/Ellsworth included Matt Geister, Joe Rahe, and Travis Weiss, who all contributed with crucial hits and RBIs. Pitcher Keagan Polzine also had a standout performance, pitching all six innings, allowing only five hits, striking out seven batters, and earning the win for the team.

Looking ahead, Adrian/Ellsworth will host Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda on Saturday, aiming to carry the momentum from this important win into their upcoming games.

In another exciting baseball matchup, the Murray County Central team dominated Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda with a convincing 12-4 victory. The Rebels improved to a 4-1 overall record, remaining undefeated in the Red Rock Conference with a 3-0 record. On the other hand, HL-O/F’s record dropped to 1-5, with four consecutive losses.

The Rebels showcased their offensive prowess by scoring early and maintaining their lead throughout the game. Krew Schneider and Owen Gillette led the team with impressive hitting performances, while Schneider also excelled on the mound, striking out seven batters.
